More than two decades ago, wine guru Prof. Radisav Šćepanović founded a vineyard in the Negotin frontier region, near the banks of the Danube which, in this area, is near its widest point, separating Serbia from Romania. The terroir — a mix of gravel, sand and limestone — is highly reminiscnt of Bordeaux, and the same grapes thrive here: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Tri Oraha focuses exclusively on these varietals to produce some of the finest Bordeaux blends in the region. Aged in barriques for longer than a typical Bordeaux, these are wines of structure, complexity and wonderful drinkability.
