Prunotto

Barolo

Prunotto's Barolo is an historic label, with the first vintage dating back to 1905. This longstanding tradition is preserved in the classic aging approach and careful vineyard selection, emphasizing the unique qualities of Nebbiolo grown in Barolo's premier terroir. A deep garnet red with ruby reflections, the nose is complex: aromas of red fruit and floral aromas follow over to notes of spices and impressions of forest floor and plums. The intense palate is characterized by soft tannins and a lengthy aftertaste. Outstanding aging potential.

The Prunotto estate is located in Alba, the most important city in the Langhe area halfway between Barbaresco and Barolo. The Antinori family, charmed by such unique vineyards and soils, decided in 1989 to invest time and energy in this terroir, confident that their efforts would make Prunotto what it is today: one of the most important winemaking estates in the Piedmont region. The estate’s holding in the Bussia cru, in Monforte d’Alba, is one of the most celebrated vineyards in all of Barolo.
