Gaja created this red blend of Nebbiolo (35%), Merlot (25%), Barbera (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) to deliver greater approachability in its youth. The vineyards from which the fruit is sourced are located in the villages of Treiso and Barbaresco (in the Barbaresco appellation) and in Serralunga d’Alba (in the Barolo appellation). The pheasants featured on the label commemorate the beautiful birds that inhabit the forests adjacent to Gaja’s vineyards. Ideal pairings include mature cheese, rare cuts of meat and mushroom risotto.
