Barolo Bussia comes from the splendid amphitheater-shaped vineyard in the Bussia Monforte d’Alba area. This historic wine was produced for the first time at Prunotto as a single vineyard wine in 1961. It is an intense ruby red with light garnet hues. The nose is complex and precise: notes of red oranges and pink pepper lead to hints of small wild berries and roots. The palate is full and fruity with excellent structure and silky tannins accompanied by extraordinary freshness. The wine closes with a persistent finish that echoes aromas perceived on the nose.

The Prunotto estate is located in Alba, the most important city in the Langhe area halfway between Barbaresco and Barolo. The Antinori family, charmed by such unique vineyards and soils, decided in 1989 to invest time and energy in this terroir, confident that their efforts would make Prunotto what it is today: one of the most important winemaking estates in the Piedmont region. The estate’s holding in the Bussia cru, in Monforte d’Alba, is one of the most celebrated vineyards in all of Barolo.
